Tyler Herro: Miami's New Star!
Tyler Herro has been incredible this season, making his first All-Star team this season. Averaging 24 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, making himself an all-around player. Hero is great at scoring at the rim and scoring behind the arc. With Miami's new chapter post-Jimmy, it looks bright with the 25-year-old taking over.
The Miami Heat had a superstar in Jimmy Butler for five years. He led the team to two finals appearances and three conference finals. Butler shocked the world when he asked for a trade. He also had issues with Pat Riley after last season's conflict with his franchise player of six years. This hurt Tyler Herro's successful season, where he made his first All-Star appearance. He has been able to take his game to another level and is able to score at all levels. Herro has been the perfect main scorer on the team today.
Tyler Herro has been great on the offensive end this season. He became the focal point of the offense while Jimmy sat suspended on the bench. Herro is great at controlling the pace and being able to finish strong at the basket. Tyler is a great off-ball shooter, and he can get a catch-and-shoot opportunity or create his own shot. He has been a great playmaker creating plays off his gravity. He has improved all aspects of his game which has then led to Herro making his first All-Star game!
In the playoffs, Herro has been rocky. In the bubble, he was great, averaging 16 points per game and 5.1 rebounds in his rookie year. Tyler made his impact by standing out from the 2019 draft class, which had Ja Morant and Zion Williamson. Then having a playoff slump, finding himself losing to the Bucks in a sweep. In the 2023 playoffs run, Tyler found himself out due to a broken head. Now, the roles have changed for him. From coming off the bench, where he won six Man of the Year awards, to becoming the main scoring option. So far, as a role player, he has been shaky, but he could become the first option on the new Heat team.
The new chapter in Miami has come. The days of Jimmy Butler putting on the Superman cape and carrying the team to a Finals appearance are over. Now, Tyler Herro has become the face of the organization, which is a huge positive as he is only 25 years old. He can score from anywhere on the court and has been great at becoming the first option. Each season, Tyler Herro has improved his game. He won Sixth Man of the Year and made his first All-Star team.
This is the Herro ball needed to win. As of right now, Miami is a play-in team that will have a tough battle against the Boston Celtics. Tyler Herro leads a new core, joined by veterans Bam Adebayo and Duncan Robinson. They are also supported by newcomers Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins. The Heat hard time to either the Celtics, Cavs, or Knicks. The Miami Heat have a solid base. With Herro as the team's face, they could compete in the future.
