San Antonio Walks Out As Winners!

The San Antonio Spurs won the trade as they gave away no draft picks or young players. To give their franchise player the confidence to compete and, one day, win a championship. The Kings are still mediocre. Zach LaVine can't make them contenders. The Chicago Bulls walked away with zero draft picks.

The San Antonio Spurs made a crazy trade that was overshadowed by one of the greatest trades ever! After spending eight seasons in Sacramento, De'Aaron Fox is now a San Antonio Spur. It changes our view of the Western Conference. San Antonio showed their second-year star, Victor Wembanyama, that they are ready to compete. They added an All-Star and one of the best point guards. The best part? They didn't have to give up anything! Devin Vassell and Sam Castle remain Spurs and did not have to give up a draft pick. All that people can think of is that? This is the best the Kings could get? And how the duo of Victor Wembanyama and DeAaron Fox can be box office basketball.

Duo of Wemby and Fox looks scary! The 27-year-old All-Star is now playing with a future MVP. The idea of those two sharing the game looks fun, as the possibility of plays will be endless. As Victor is one of the best scorers in the league, he can get his basket anywhere on the floor. The idea of him and Wemby on the pick and roll is amazing. We could see the big man go down to the middle for an easy lob or be able to pop for a three. Fox is a quick player who can drive to the basket and finish strong. The handoff passes will be fire in San Antonio. Fox's demands for attention will open the floor for the Spurs. Wemby and Fox will be a top league duo. Elite role players like Sochan, Vassell, and Castle will help the Spurs win future games. San Antonio's win is keeping their young talent. Pairing their superstar with another All-Star is a victory. But the same cannot be said for the other teams a part of the deal.

The Chicago Bulls are a joke. Getting no draft picks from the Thunder for Alex Caruso and now trading away Zach LaVine for nothing. Keeping Zach for that long, and all they could show for it was getting their own draft pick back. And the players they got do not help Chicago kick-start its rebuild. Tre Jones is an expiring contract who is soon to be an unrestricted free agent. Zach Collins, who is not a rotational player in 2025. Plus, Kevin Huerter has had a huge decline all around. Marc Eversley and Artūras Karnišovas should be fired, and the Bulls should reset. This was an embarrassing trade for the legendary Chicago team. Like the Bulls, the Kings did not do any better.

Sacramento Kings had their back against the wall. Either Fox walks away for nothing, as he won't stay. Or, try to get something back. Which led them to make a move for Zach LaVine and reunite him with DeMar DeRozan. And pairing up star Domantas Sabonis with a dynamic scorer like Zach LaVine. The Kings' commitment to remaining mid might be a wise decision. Sacramento doesn't have a good history of rebuilding their franchise. They should build around a committed, All-NBA caliber player as he has more years on his contract. Kings have a good offense as they have talented scorers like Sabonis, Monk, DeRozan, and LaVine, but they will be an awful defensive team.

Kings could be a fun offensive team with dog shit defense. Every team will be able to score 100 points on this team as nobody can lock up. But at the same time, the Kings could end up scoring a shit ton of points. Sabonis is one of the best offensive players in the league. He's shooting a career-best from three-point range. Monk is a great scorer off the bench and a good ball handler that can play on and off the ball. DeRozan has been a career good offensive scorer. Adding another scorer in Zach LaVine makes the Kings exciting. But it won't matter if they can't guard anyone. The Kings could be a play-in team, which is a win for a team that has been bad for all of my life.

San Antonio Spurs won the mid-season trade. They paired their generational superstar with an All-Star point guard. It is crazy that they did not have to give up any of the Hawks' draft picks or give away their young role players. As a Spurs fan, you should feel excited about the future. The Chicago Bulls came out as losers as they did not gain any draft picks; it is an ugly start to their rebuild. The Sacramento Kings' remaining mediocrity isn't much of a surprise. The trade for LaVine ensures that they will always remain a bottom playoff team. Which is an unfortunate win for that organization.
