Monty Williams, You're Fired!
The Pistons have made a huge move this off-season. In the style of Vince McMahon, Tom Gores fired the expensive head coach Monty Williams. From giving him an easy $78.5 million-dollar deal, where he watched the Pistons burn to the ground and got paid for it. To now being jobless. It seemed like Monty Williams had no clue what the Pistons were or the personnel on the team. From not playing second-year player Jaden Ivey at the start of the season. And having bums like Killian Hayes gets starting minutes. The Pistons became a meme. No team wanted to lose to them. Even Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma was making fun of the Pistons. He plays for the second-shittest franchise. The Pistons are in the dirt post-2000s run. There is nothing but up for the Pistons from here on out.
ESPN Sources: After one season, the Detroit Pistons have dismissed coach Monty Williams — who leaves with five years and $65M-plus left on his deal. New President Trajan Langdon will move to make his own coaching hire now.

The Pistons are in a decent position to recover. The first pick in the 2021 draft, Cade Cunningham, is on their roster. He has shown signs of being a star in the league. Along with Amen Thompson, who has shown himself to be a good young defender in the league. He could be a solid 3&D player in this league. Jaden Ivey didn't get minutes in the first half of the season. But he kept the same stats as his rookie year. Now, with a new coaching staff, we've got to see his usage rise. And Jalen Duren, who has the potential to be a big player in this league. The Pistons have a good core and can build on these young guys in hopes of making the playoffs in a year or two.
"He needs to get on his knees and look up and thank his heavenly father that he was let out of that miserable situation in Detroit... He regretted it from the time he got there."

The Pistons have made a huge pivots. They've gone from firing bad general manager Troy Weaver to now firing Monty Williams. The Pistons looked like they couldn't beat my local middle school team. They were so horrible. It was an absolute joke. Everyone was laughing. A franchise that won championships. Now, they look like they can't win neighborhood basketball games. The Pistons have to find a coach who can guide their core. And it has to be fast, as the Pistons need a winning culture. They can't afford to keep wasting Cade's career. It would be nice to see Detroit basketball rise again. Watching the NBA is fun when the Pistons are at their best.
