Milwaukee Bucks' Next Chapter!
The Bucks shook up their roster, leading to controversy over Damian Lillard's being waived. Plus, adding new talent around Giannis makes it seem that the Bucks want to run a new style of offense. The 2025-26 season is open, and Milwaukee could retake their crown.
The Milwaukee Bucks shocked the NBA world with the Damian Lillard buyout. The league has changed due to the new CBA, which has forced teams to make moves on their feet. Jon Horst and company have had to be aggressive to compete next season. They must decide if the 36-year-old point guard is worth keeping, or should they stretch out his contract or let him go? They decided to let Dame be a free agent and have the cap space to make a move for Myles Turner.
This was a signing that Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted. Myles Turner is a great match for the former NBA champion. He can space the floor with his three-point shooting, hitting 39 percent from behind the arc. And be a good rim protector and perimeter defender. The fit of both Giannis and Turner is going to make the Bucks a tough frontcourt duo. The front office is confident in the fit. They used the money owed to Dame to sign the big man who just had a strong finals run.
Myles Turner, after spending a decade in Indiana, now finds himself a new home. The big man now plays with a top three player in the league, sharing a front court with him. This new environment is ideal, as Giannis can cover a lot of the holes in Myles' game, such as rebounding. Antetokounmpo's ability to draw in defenders can benefit Myles as it opens up shots for him. He is an elite off-ball player and a great help defender. Myles Turner is a good player to start a new chapter with as the Bucks let go of the old ones.
10 years in the Blue & Gold 💙💛
thank you Myles Turner for all the memories on and off the floor.

Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton have started a new chapter as they head to new teams. Pat was traded to the Charlotte Hornets to clear cap space and make room for new players. Brook Lopez is headed towards the end of his career and looks to become a backupcenter for Ivica Zubac and the LA Clippers. Jon Horst has made the big moves to let go of the old players and welcome a ton of new personnel.
The Bucks have signed Gary Harris, a talented defender in the guard position. The veteran guard will energize the bench as he fills in the defensive holes the team had last season. The Bucks today replaced Damian Lillard with Cole Anthony tonight, as he can be a shooter and playmaker off the bench. Along with retaining some of the players from last season.
Cole Anthony has agreed to a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks after he clears waivers, sources tell ESPN. Grizzlies finalized the buyout with Jeff Schwartz and Javon Phillips of Excel Sports for Anthony's new opportunity.

Gary Trent Jr. had a good season last year after looking like he was out of the league. Shooting 41 percent from behind the three, he is the perfect player to play next to Giannis. This deal was an affordable two-year deal for 7.5 million dollars and was shown to be a low-risk, high-reward type player. Kevin Porter Jr. was big for the Bucks once Dame was injured. It will be interesting to see if he will be the starter next season next to point guard Giannis. And one of the best Sixth Men of the league, Bobby Portis, resigned for a long-term deal. The Bucks were able to keep the positives of last season while letting go of the aging players. But with the moves they made, it seems like the Bucks plan to change their playstyle.
Point Giannis could be a thing next season, given the Bucks' decision not to bring in a strong point guard. Cole Anthony and Kevin Porter Jr. have both been bench players in their careers, and it will be interesting to see who gets the starting spot. As the Greek Freak averaged 8 assists without Dame, we could see him average double digits in that column. Myles Turner and Gary Trent Jr. will shine alongside Giannis. Bobby will stay one of the best sixth men off the bench. Next season, the Bucks could be fun, as they went from being one of the oldest teams last year to one of the youngest in this upcoming season.
The Milwaukee Bucks were the 8th oldest team in the NBA three months ago. Today, they are the 13th youngest.

The Milwaukee Bucks have gotten younger this season with some of their key signings this free agency and letting the older players leave. Jon Horst did a master class in getting role players around their franchise player. Next season they could change the way they run the offense with Giannis running the point. Milwaukee went from being one of the oldest teams to now having fresher faces. With how open the East is, we could see the Bucks winning another championship after five years.
