Miami Heat Got a New Guard!

Miami Heat Got a New Guard!

The Miami Heat have made a tweak to their roster. The Heat traded away their veteran guard in Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick for Terry Rozier. This is a trade that has improved the Heat as they have gotten younger. This season, people have underestimated Scary Terry. They've overlooked him because he plays for the crappy Charlotte Hornets. Now, Rozier has the chance to get the spotlight, as he will play next to Jimmy Butler and Erik Spoelstra. Rozier was an incredible playoff performer. This earned him a payday with the Hornets. With how stacked the guard spot is in the East, this trade makes the most sense for the Heat.

Terry Rozier has had an outstanding season, averaging 23 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He fits with the already talented Heat team. He is a proven shooter and a good passer. This is perfect for shooters like Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro. Jimmy Butler now has a good young playmaker who can help him get buckets. Terry is the perfect role player to have in Miami.

The Heat now have more spark on offense with Rozier. The Heat did not have the best offensive rating. Now, they have a player who can be a second-to-fourth option on any given night. Having four players that are averaging 40 points a season is a blessing for the Heat. The team gave up their aging point guard to now have a player entering his prime. Now, they have a point guard who can compete with the best guards in the Eastern Conference. This trade, while it may not be loud, is a trade that scares other teams.

For the Hornets, this trade now guarantees that the ball will be in the hands of LaMelo Ball. This shows that the franchise is confident in its rising star. The Hornets also got a 2027 pick, which they can move in the future for another player. Charlotte has two rising stars in Brandon Miller and Ball, who will demand the ball more. This is a good move for the Hornets, as they trade Terry Rozier at his peak. According to reports, the Hornets will be waiving Kyle Lowry.

Kyle Lowry is at the tail end of his career, and what a great run he had. From struggling to figure it out in Memphis and Houston to then becoming a Toronto legend, DeMar DeRozan and Lowry led the Raptors to their best, and then the Kawhi Leonard trade. We saw both lead the franchise to their first title. For seven straight years, he was one of the best point guards in the league. The six-time All-Star will be a Hall of Famer and will have his jersey in the rafters once he retires.

The buy-out market has changed this season. Teams like the Nuggets, Suns, and Bucks can't get the former champion. His contract exceeds the Mid-Level Exception threshold. The All-Star has limited options. He could sign with the Raptors to end his career. There aren't many teams I can think of that could sign Lowry. Fans have to wait and see where he signs this deadline.

The Miami Heat have gotten better this season. It is exciting to see what they could do with Terry Rozier in the starting lineup. The Celtics, Bucks, and Knicks must be petrified by this trade. The Miami Heat have improved their point guard position. They have a better scorer and a good passer. This makes the heat a lot scarier. The Hornets got more money freed up and have a 2027 pick, which they can use to move around. We are waiting to see what is next for Kyle Lowry's career. This is what we, as NBA fans, die for at the trade deadline!
