The Warriors have been dying for that, as Lauri has scored over 20 points in the last four games. The Finnish star is great on offense. He is a great shooter who can hit shots from anywhere on the court, and Lauri can also make the right passes. He has been the total package for the rebuilding Utah Jazz team. The 27-year-old is entering his prime as the Jazz look to build a team around him. With how December has been for Lauri, he could end up making another All-Star team.
The Utah Jazz's 5-year, $238 million deal for Lauri makes sense, as he is one of the best scorers in the league. Lauri can score from anywhere on the court. He can shoot deep threes, mid-range shots, and finish strong around the rim. Markkanen is one of the best off-ball players in the league. He makes it easy for the guards to get their assists as he can get his points off at any spot on the court. One of Lauri's best traits is his passing. He excels at making the extra pass when he draws the defenders' attention. And for his size, he plays like a small forward, as he possesses the agility and speed of one despite being 7'0 tall. Markkanen has been one of the most underrated players this season due to the Jazz not being good.
The off-season rumors were that Lauri Markkanen would join a new team, and it made sense to everyone. As the power forward is entering the prime of his career at the age of 27, it only made sense that he go to a winning team. It was awesome to think of him on the Warriors or 76ers. He'd be playing next to Steph Curry, Tyrese Maxey, and Joel Embiid, which would have been so ideal. It would have been incredible to watch Lauri and Steph off the ball to Draymond Green. Or, Lauri could be in the corner while Embiid and Maxey played off each other. With how talented Markkanen is as an off-ball player, it is no doubt that he would fit like a puzzle on a competing team. They have a big new contract with the Jazz. Now, they hope to draft a top-three player next year to pair with their All-Star.
Lauri Markkanen is one of the most talented and underrated players in the league. He is such a talented scorer who can shoot deep threes, mid-range, and finish strong at the rim. The way he can play like a small forward despite being a seven-footer is what makes him special. The Utah Jazz are terrible. One bright spot is Lauri. He lights up opposing teams every night.
