Julius Randle Joins the Wolf Pact!

Julius Randle traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

On September 27th, Sham announced one of the biggest trades this off-season. The Knicks traded Julius Randle. He brought back New York culture and led the team to the post-season in recent years. Earning himself three All-Star selections and three All-NBA teams. Randle embodied everything that New York is. But at the end of the day, it is all a business. No matter what you do for an organization, they will always look to improve with or without you. Karl Anthony Towns also felt this as he played in Minnesota for nine years. This upcoming season Randle will be apart of the wolf pact led by Anthony Edwards.

Julius Randle is playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Which will be weird to see, as we have seen him wear a Knicks jersey for 5 years. There has been a lot of discussion about how he will fit next to Rudy Gobert. The spacing is an issue that dominates the waves. Julius Randle is not known for his shooting; 33 percent from behind the arc has a lot of fans worried. The issue of spacing could end up hurting Anthony Edwards. He will have a difficult time driving to the basket. Jaden McDaniels better step up as a shooter to draw attention. Donte DiVincenzo, another player included in the trade, could do a good job opening the floor. Shooting an incredible 40 percent behind the three-point line. While the question is how he will fit, there are a lot of positives that Randle can bring.

While everyone is laughing and confused about the spacing. There are many positives that Randle provides. A playmaker who can take the pressure off of Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley. Along with Randle being a better defender than Karl Anthony Towns. Also, his ability to iso play will create shots for Anthony Edwards. One of the biggest perks of this deal is that Randle's contract isn't long. As compared to KAT, whose deal runs till 2027. Randle has a player option next season. Which means that Minnesota has flexibility. If it does not work out, then a trade could happen or he walks away. Which sets up Naz Ried to take on the starting spot. He shined with exceptional skill last post-season, and he is a younger player. This trade sets up Minnesota a lot of flexibility for the future. Which is a huge plus when you look at it in a bigger picture.

Julius Randle going to Minnesota is a shock to everyone. Being incredible in the New York Knicks, where he took the organization to another level. The Knicks went from a joke to a fringe playoff team. The Timberwolves have made a huge shakeup. Donte Divincenzo, one of the best sixth men in the league, was another great addition. He can shoot at ease. This is a team we have to watch once the season starts. As of right now, the fit seems awkward. But it could work out. This sets Timberwolves up for the future too. Randle's contract is a lot smaller. Julius Randle now joins the Wolf Pact along with Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards, and Naz Reid.
