Indiana Pacers: Run It Back!
The Indiana Pacers were one of the most exciting teams this postseason. Tyrese Haliburton became an All-Star and an All-NBA-caliber player. In the offseason, he played with some of the best players in the league during the Summer Olympics. Hali has great court vision. He can find players on the court. He can also hit his shots. A perfect franchise player from the Midwest. representing everything that the Pacers love. The front office decided to run it back with the squad that brought them success last season.
One of the biggest moves the Pacers made was bringing back Pascal Siakam. He was incredible this past post-season, Siakam experienced a postseason peak, surpassing his previous performances. They signed him to a $189 million deal. It showed their franchise player they are serious about competing. Siakam is a good off-ball player. And great at finishing around the basket. He is a talented wing defender. They need that against Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Paolo Banchero. A perfect front-court duo next to Myles Turner. The duo of Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton makes the Pacers one of the best teams out in the East. One of the highlights of the off-season, along with re-signing Andrew Nembhard.
Andrew Nembhard was one of the highlights of the post-season. He was able to make a name for himself on both ends of the court. He is one of the best young role players in the league. They rewarded the 25-year-old with a three-year, $59 million deal. An off-ball player next to Tyrese, taking on the defensive responsibilities. The Pacers ensured to keep their depth by re-signing TJ McConnell.

TJ McConnell is one of the best six men in the league today. His ability to play defense and rack in some steals is incredible. Along with controlling the offense when Haliburton is on the bench. He is good at finding other players on the court. A perfect player to put next to the returning Benedict Mathurin. Along with Ben Sheppard, who is a hustle player off the bench. Another player the Pacers were able to bring back was Obi Toppin.
The Pacers signed T.J. McConnell to a four-year, $45 million extension, per @wojespn.
McConnell, one of the best backup point guards in the NBA, will now finish his career in Indiana.

Since being drafted back in 2020, Obi has emerged as a good role player in the league. He is great on the offensive end. Obi can cut to the basket and finish around the rim. While being great at shooting three-pointers. Shooting 40 percent behind the arc. A great six or seventh man off the bench. A spark plug that the Pacers need. It only served right that he got the money that he deserved.
The Indiana Pacers are building on their momentum from last postseason. Instead of rushing their young team, they are extending them. Giving them another season to see where they stand. The Pacers could be one of next season's hottest teams. Rick Carlisle is one of the best coaches in the league, with Haliburton and Siakam being a good duo. And Myles Turner, the longtime Pacer, being the defensive anchor and a stretch big. Indiana is one of the deepest teams in the East. Which is why it is hard to count them out. Running it back might be the correct move for the upcoming season.
