Golden State Warriors' Shining Role Players.
The Golden State Warriors are down 2-1 with no Steph Curry. Jimmy Butler, with his playoff experience, and Draymond Green now lead the way. Buddy Hield and Brandin Podziemski are set to help fill in for Steph. They will share some of the scoring responsibilities.
The Golden State Warriors have had a strong season. They beat the young Rockets in seven games. Buddy Hield, Brandin Podziemski, and Gary Payton II were able to shine as role players. Even beating the Wolves in game one with Steph Curry getting hurt midway through. Steve Kerr has maximized his role players' potential. This was clear when Gary Payton scored 11 points in the fourth quarter. Along with Buddy Hield, who came through big in game seven. Buddy is the third option so far this season.
One of the highlights of the Warriors this postseason has been Buddy Hield. He’s been an amazing player. He shines with his three stars: Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Steph Curry. His off-ball ability and not needing to dribble to get hot have been huge for the sharpshooter. Buddy has been perfect playing off of former champion Draymond Green.
Draymond Green has been outstanding in the postseason. Since 2014-15, when he became the face of the organization, he has become the heart of the team. He is one of the best help defenders in the league. Dray is good at making extra passes and hitting open threes. He brings the energy needed night in and night out. Dray's defense stood out against Sengun. Sengun struggled to meet his All-Star level because of Draymond's physical play. Draymond, as the oldest role player, will be key to a deep run for the Warriors. And be the leader for young Brandin Podziemski.
Now, with lower expectations, Brandin Podziemski has been able to shine. He is good at playing off the two main players by hitting his threes, shooting 37 percent. This ability to stretch the floor has opened up driving lanes for his teammates, allowing them to capitalize on defensive lapses. As a result, Podziemski not only contributes as a scorer but also enhances the overall team dynamics. Also, he can drive to the rim and create his own shots. able to cut to the basket. Podziemski is a key player for this Golden State Warriors team. He has to be one of the shining role players in this run. The Warriors have a lot of players who can step up big in this Wolves run.
Golden State has a lot of players who can be weapons. Jonathan Kuminga stepped up with Steph Curry out. He scored 30 points against the Timberwolves. Moses Moody is a sniper off the bench. Quinten Post is a guy who can open the floor. Veteran Kevon Looney has brought defense and energy for close to a decade for the Warriors. Pat Spencer has been coming off the bench as a playmaker and facilitator. And Gary Payton II, a former champion, showed his experience against Houston. With Steph Curry out, all these guys will need to pick up the pieces needed to win this round, as they are down 2-1.
