Once in a Generation Star!

Once in a Generation Star!

I was wrong about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in my old post. This is a correction to my past post. SGA isn't quick or explosive. I will go over his true talent in my new article.*

What a season Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having! An absolute dominating season where he is leading the Thunder to the second seed. Posting up MVP numbers with 31 points per game, 5.5 rebound, and 6.5 assist. All around the board, he has shown his dominance. Dethroning Steph Curry in the All-Star starting spot. The 25-year-old is now a superstar.

One of the most special parts of SGA is his control of pacing. It is one of the most beautiful things to watch. The way he is able to start with full speed and then slow it down to the rim. He has the ability to control his speed, which frustrates the defender. At times, SGA drives and then stops, then creates amid-range jumper. It throws the defender off, and he is able to create space. His wingspan helps him with his shooting because he has a slow release. Because of his wingspan, he is able to be one of the best mid-range shooters in the league. Along with SGA's ability to score, his footwork is something special.

Footwork has become an absolute skill set for guards. Guys like Dwayne Wade and Kobe Bryant used to get their baskets due to this skill set. Now, we have seen that return with Shai-Gilgeous Alexander. His footwork has been nothing but awesome. It is unpredictable. The way he is able to create separation, which then knocks down the mid-range, It also helps him be creative around the rim, which makes the rim protector's job harder. It adds to the finesse of his game. The footwork, along with his pacing, is what makes SGA special. His strength is something that is incredible.

A player who has footwork and speed control and adds strength with that is something dangerous. SGA is one of the most physical players in the league. He can force his way into the basket, which makes it more difficult to guard. It is unreal how strong he is. The way he is able to bump into the defender can lead to a layup, a foul, or an and-one play. It helps him get more baskets. This is one of his most underrated parts of his game. Another quality SGA has is his ability to protect the ball.

Man, SGA ball-handing is awesome. The fact that he has a 6'11 wingspan is crazy. It is hard to get a steal on him because of how talented he is at protecting the ball. It helps him be able to control the pace. It throws the defenders off on how to guard him, and his footwork doesn't help along with that. This is an added bonus to his strength because of how hard it is to guard him. You can't get physical with him, nor can you steal from him. This man will have a long career because his game is generational. It is not that demanding, as he isn't explosive, nor is he super quick. Alexander is the future MVP of this league.

What a job SGA has done this season! From starting in the All-Star game to having the chance to make the All-NBA first team, He is leading the Thunder to the second seed, and they have been one of the most fun teams to watch. The way he controls the game and rips through the defense. He is going to be one of the greatest players of all time. SGA will be one of the biggest faces after LeBron James. We could see these stars in a generation win MVPs and even titles in the future.
