Devin Booker: Is It Over?

Devin Booker could be on the move this offseason as the Suns suck. The organization may have to move because they have spent a lot of money on the roster, and the results are bad. Teams like the Rockets, Grizzlies, Magic, and Pistons could look to get their hands on the 28-year-old.

The Phoenix Suns were one of the most embarrassing teams this season. They have ended their season without making the play-in tournament. Making plans for vacations to Cancun as the Suns' roster now has the summer to themselves. They reached the finals in 2021, two games away from winning. Then, they made a big trade for Kevin Durant. The Phoenix Suns are in a tough spot after trading for Bradley Beal and his expensive contract. With Booker in his prime, the Suns face a challenge. Their team is aging, and they lack cap space. So, is it over for Devin Booker and the Suns?

Devin Booker has had a great season, but the Suns' struggles have overshadowed it. As he has had his best season in playmaking, he is able to draw defenders and kick it out to the three-point line. He can pass at the rim when defenders close in. He also navigates the pick and roll well, creating shots for himself or others. Devin is one of the best shot creators in the league today. Booker is one of the most savvy midrange shooters and can clip the three. He is a talented off-ball shooter, which further makes him dangerous. Booker can drive to the rim and absorb contact. Devin Booker is among the top offensive players in the league. Many teams are ready to trade for him.

This off-season could be major with the Suns deciding that they will rebuild their team. As they are the most expensive team in the NBA today. The result is that they are too bad to make the playoffs and too good to be a lottery pick. This could lead the Suns to decide to make moves to get some assets and young players. If Jalen Green plays well, they might go after Devin Booker. This could help them compete for a shot at the finals. The Memphis Grizzlies might decide to shake things up. If they think their current stars can't win, they have the assets to make a change. I would not be surprised if the Grizzlies try to move one of the big three for the 28-year-old superstar. The Oklahoma City Thunder might chase Devin Booker. If Jalen Williams or Chet Holmgren doesn't pan out this offseason, we could see them shipped for Book. The top teams in the West have the assets and players to make a move, or we could see him moved to the East.

In the East, there are many interesting candidates. The Detroit Pistons might go after Devin Booker. They could team him up with Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson. Speeding up their process and trying to compete with top teams like the Cavs and Celtics. Or the Orlando Magic, who have had an awful season this year. From being a top five team last season to swimming in the play-in tournament. They could cash in their chips and trade their young asset. This would help them team up with Paolo Banchero. The front office might consider this if they doubt Franz Wagner can be the future star. The New York Knicks might consider joining the Devin Booker sweepstakes. However, their assets could be a reason they won't succeed. Devin Booker will be the most attractive player this offseason.

It is hard to see how the Suns could end the Devin Booker era. He wasn't always surrounded by good talent, as Booker dealt with mediocre performers. Not seeing anything near a playoff window and having coaches come and go. When Ayton got drafted, Rubio joined the Suns. Then Monty Williams came in, and everything changed. Going undefeated in the Bubble and then bringing in Chris Paul to the mix, where they made a finals trip. Since then he has seen two coaches get fired, and Bradley Beal, a star they brought in, hasn't panned out. It was a fun decade, but changes need to happen!
