Detriot Pistons: Running It Back!

With the East wide open, it was a shock to many that the front office didn't make aggressive moves. Detroit decided to look at their young core to see who has a bright future. They also added veterans to the team. The Pistons will be one of the best young teams for next season.

Trajan Langdon shocked Pistons fans by choosing to stick with the current team, as the East is wide open, and there are so many expected trades. Cade Cunningham was able to become the star that was expected of him. Last season, the Pistons returned to the spotlight, becoming a playoff team and taking the Knicks to six. Cade Cunningham led the Knicks to six wins, even without Jaden Ivey and Isiah Stewart. He proved why he made the All-Star and All-NBA teams, and with the East open, he could lead the Pistons to a higher status. The Pistons could reach the Eastern Conference next season with a healthier roster and new talent.

The Detroit Pistons lost their second-best player, Jaden, during the season. The 23-year-old has had a tough time in the league due to the incompetent season of Monty Williams and now this injury. This year will be tough for the young shooting guard. He needs to show he can be the right second option for the team. Jaden can attack the basket, shoot threes, and create his own shot. This season, the expectation is for him to score over 20 points per game. The future for Ivey will be determined by how far he makes a jump this season in the hopes he can be fully healthy. Along with Ivey Isiaiah Stewart, he is in the same category.

Throughout the Pistons' history, we have seen some tough enforcers like Rick Mahorn, Bill Laimbeer, and Ben Wallace. People have hyped up Isaiah Stewart to be someone of that category. He is a player who doesn't take a crazy amount of shots but will play hard on the defensive end. Stewart's rim protection was missed in the playoffs. Karl Anthony Towns scored easily, getting every point he wanted. With Isaiah Stewart coming back next season, the Pistons could be a better defensive team. With returning players coming back healthy, there are some new faces next season.

After seven seasons playing for the Miami Heat, Duncan Robinson has found himself a new home. The veteran shooting guard made a name for himself in the bubble. But then, he fell out of the rotation. The 31-year-old will be great at opening up the floor and playing off of Cade Cunningham. One of the best things Duncan added to his game was his ability to ball-handle, which will be huge for the team. Robinson was one of the best adds, along with Caris LeVert.

One of the best Sixth Men in the league, Caris LeVert, has found himself a new team. The veteran guard is a good shot creator and a spark plug off the bench. Along with being a good off-ball player who can cut to the basket and hit threes. The deal for the 30-year-old is affordable for the team, and he could be a moving piece. Caris will be a good veteran for the Pistons along with the young talent on the team.

The Pistons deciding to run it back could be the right move, as they have cap space and young talent to evaluate. Cade Cunningham has lived up to our expectations, as he may keep driving Detroit to greater success. We hope players like Jaden Ivey, Ron Holland, and Ausar Thompson can rise to stardom. They could be strong second options for the team going forward, which could make them a top three team. The front office's decision upset many people. Yet, it might lead to big gains in the future as they save money and assets.
