Charlotte Hornets A Team With Direction?

Charlotte Hornets: A Team With Direction?

The Charlotte Hornets have been a complete joke for the past few years. Their rebuild since 2019 has been rocky. The Hornets' injuries and controversies have stalled their push. In contrast, the Orlando Magic, who started a rebuild at the same time, have made progress. LaMelo Ball has struggled to stay healthy since he was drafted. This controversy involving Miles Bridges has prevented him from receiving his rightful payment. But this off-season, the Hornets have taken a new direction. With Jeff Peterson as the new GM, a fresh head coach, Charles Lee, is now in control. Along with trading for some young talent in Ty Mann and veterans like Grant Williams. The Hornets are looking like a team that could make the play-in.

Brandon Miller was one of the best rookies last year. Coming behind Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren. He was one hell of a scorer and showed to be a Paul George-like basketball player. Being able to create his shot and play off the ball. While being a good defender. He was one of the most exciting players in the league. Now, LaMelo Ball will join him. Who is a great scorer and playmaker. With a full season, I expect him to create more shots for his team. He should be a second option to the Miller. Set up the offense, and get the ball to some cutters or 3-point shooters. Along with Miles Bridges, who is a talented and ideal 3rd option. The hope is that he plays a clear season with no controversies. The Hornets hope he pays off as they stood by him in these domestic violence cases. The Hornets have a solid core with a lack of success rate. Due to problems off the court and injuries. The Hornets, along with some key veterans, can help the team.

Seth Curry resigning with the Hornets is awesome. A talented role player who is close to the end of his career is now playing for the team that his dad played for. He knows the city of Charlotte and how they enjoy their basketball. He can be a terrific off-the-court presence and motivate the young players. And be a good off-ball player on the court. Grant Williams can bring the toughness that the Hornets need. A good veteran who can hit shots and be a defender. Before Dallas, he was known as a good locker room guy in Boston. With his experience in those deep runs, it can translate to a good identity in Charlotte. The Charlotte Hornets are looking to be a team that can compete next season.

If the Hornets remain healthy, it will not be far-fetched to say they could be a play-in team. After a crazy rookie year, Brandon Miller is the franchise player. There is no doubt he will improve next season. LaMelo Ball having a healthy season and becoming one of the best point guards in the East is well needed. A guy who can shoot the three, pass well, and create shots for his teammates. Miles Bridges is another option on the team. He's a great off-ball player who can explode any night. The Hornets have a strong core three and some veterans that can help. But it all depends on how healthy they stay. And how mature they become. Jeff Peterson, in his first year, has done a wonderful job. Charles Lee has won two titles as an assistant coach. He can coach this team to some success. And the fact that how young he is, he can be a big help for this Hornets squad in building a culture and identity.
