Alexandre Sarr The Wizards Experiment.

.Alexandre Sarr: The Wizards experiment.

The Washington Wizards, for the past few seasons, have been one of the most confusing teams in the league. Having championship-experienced players like Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole makes no sense. But still, the Wizards see them as key factors this season. Also, trade for a veteran point guard with playoff experience: Malcolm Brogdon. Bringing in a lot of experience on their current team. Place experienced players alongside youngsters like Bilal Coulibaly in formation. Also, drafting rookie Dillon Jones. But one player that has drawn attention is Alexandre Sarr.

The summer league was bad for the young rookie. He did not live up to the hype that the world set up for him. Some reactionary fans even tried to paint him as a bust. Which is pretty dumb. Alex Sarr is an experimental player. Expecting him to enter the league like Victor Wembanyama is not necessary. He needs to figure out how to be a defender and be a piece for the offense. Another pressure that came was Bub Carrington being able to hoop in the summer league. As it stole some of his hype. With how the Wizards are moving, there should not be a lot of pressure on Sarr to become a star in his first year. And the front office knows that as they signed a veteran center.

Jonas Valančiūnas was an ideal addition for the Wizards. They saw Oklahoma's mistake in not adding another big next to Chet Holmgren. So, they signed the veteran center. The team expects Jonas to be the muscle. Guard other bigs like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. He will take a lot of pressure away from Sarr so he can develop into a solid big man himself. And not have to worry about the defensive pressure that will come. Another trade that was good is Malcolm Brogdon, who is a good playmaker. Can help Sarr find his spots on the court, which will be the key in his development. The Wizards are looking at this season as a new page.

The Wizards are in a rebuild. A team that has desperately needed it for a long time. We expected teams to trade players like Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma during the mid-season. It can let many young players show their talent. They could become franchise-changing players. Alex Sarr is one of those names that I can think of getting those chances. For him to adjust and become a basketball player. And show some potential until this draft. The Wizards can draft Cooper Flagg.
